A downloadable game for Windows

Your spaceship crashed on a mysterious Earth-like planet. With the help of your spaceship's control AI, you explore how you can use the natural resources of the planet to survive and find a way home. Very soon, you realize there's more to your findings than you thought...

An open world, third-person, action-adventure game where you'll explore beautiful flora, break a bunch of stuff, and learn a lot about nutrition. The ending may shock you!

A fun project I did to see how you could push UE5's features to make an open world with destruction and interactive environment while maintaining good performance. I focused mostly on CPU work, but GPU performance is pretty decent too. It uses the destruction system, trees with actual individual leaves (and thus Nanite), new animation systems, and procedural generation.

Also, to prove to myself I can carry a larger, quality project (aside from sooooomeee jank) from start to finish :)

Tip:
The game starts on Epic quality settings by default. Performance is fairly good but you might want to lower it to High or Medium depending on your system as well as using upscaling settings such as FSR3.

Controls

- WASD/Left joystick to move.
- Mouse/Right joystick to look around.
- Space/A to jump
- Left mouse button/B to attack (once you've unlocked it)
- E/X to interact

Known issues (that I will likely not fix as I'm moving on to other projects)

  • The game starts at high quality settings. You might need to lower it once you can open the pause menu (esc).
  • Once you change the upscaling option in the graphics options, you may not be able to change its quality until you close and reopen the settings menu.
  • Controller support is fairly broken in the UI.
  • In very rare cases, you may get stuck in the palm trees. Turning around and trying to jump out a few times usually works to get out.
  • Extremely rare crash caused by invalid player position.
  • Camera sometimes collides too aggressively.
